1942 Cole of California “Swoon Suit” Champagne Bombshell Ruched Lace Up Swimsuit- S/M-M

Absolutely stunning, 1940s museum held, “Swoon Suit” by Cole of California, designed by Margit Fellegi.  This 1942 WWII era set is significant as Cole of California manufactured parachutes for the war effort, and they were called to cease the use of elastic in their swimwear. The lace up sides on the bottom became the fashionable solution for this restriction, and is one of the companies most iconic suits.

This wonderful pin-up era piece features a lot of variability in size due to the ruched halter and the lace up features on the bottoms. These are also a high waisted fit. Both top and bottom are fully lined. A truly iconic piece of 1940s sportswear.

In lovely condition overall with a few small flaws  mostly tiny fleck marks and a few tiny pinholes. There is also a small makeup stain on the top. Luckily this is conveniently located beneath the center tie so shouldn’t be visible when worn.
