Absolutely gorgeous, 1800s black calico bodice jacket with a row of hook and eye closures up the front. Beautiful fades on the darling, black calico print. Amazing ruching and gathering of the fabric at the bust. Lined in a beautiful striped cotton fabric and has the weight of a good, lightweight jacket. Cropped cut and fit and shoulders are temperate and not too exaggerated. Could be worn closed as a blouse or open as a jacket. In stunning antique condition with beautiful patina. Fabric is strong. Such a gorgeous piece of wearable history.
