Beautiful antique or vintage still life from the 1920s or 1930s. This piece petite but speaks volumes. Gorgeous red and burgundy flowers with beautiful texture. In a lovely, 20-30s era frame, professionally framed.

Signed by American painter Viola Sayer (1883-1975). Sayre was born in Iowa on Dec. 14, 1883. She moved to Glendale, CA in 1917 with her brother Fred Grayson Sayre. A spinster, she died in Hemet, CA on Jan. 3, 1975. In 2021, one of her floral still life’s sold for $500. This one is a few inches smaller but in my opinion, more beautiful by moodyness, colors, choice of flower, etc. Medium is oil on board.
