1930s Ivory Silk Charmeuse Bamboo Jacquard Angel Sleeve Robe- S/M-M
Truly remarkable, 1930s ivory angel sleeve robe in the most delightful, thick, bamboo jacquard, charmeuse silk. The one of a kind piece came to me in need of quite a bit of care, and I have lovingly mended her back to health over many hours. The sultry boudoir robe is made of two panels of mesh lace. Sadly, some parts of the top panel of mesh had developed holes over time. Luckily, the bottom and surrounding top netting is strong, and I was able to mend them in the most aesthetic way my capabilities with allow. Luckily, the floral lace motif allows these enhancements to blend in an acceptable manner.
She is strong and robust, and you can feel this when wearing. There are also a few other marks that are shown in photos, such as a dark mark on the end of the sash, a smudge on the inside of a cuff and some flecks of pink on the back of the hem. Her strong features make these marks quite inconsequential, in my opinion. Looks gorgeous worn closed, and would be beautiful worn open as a duster over jeans and a camisole, or vintage slip dress. She is not entirely full length. I am 5’5” - 5’6” and she comes to just below my calf when worn. See first photo for reference:)
