1930s Deco Black Velvet Gown w/ Lamé Inserts + Cascading Sleeves- S-M
Absolutely stunning, 1930s black velvet gown, with beautiful lamé and colorful printed inserts and the most magnificent, cascading kimono style sleeves. Due to the label on this piece which reads “Colony Lingerie Shop,” I believe it was originally a very decadent hostess gown. However, it does have a chiffon lining which would definitely make it more of an evening gown! Regardless, it makes a perfect dress to wear out and about during the day or dressed up at night. It came to me with a belt but sadly it was not in the greatest condition so I replaced it with this period correct, velvet belt with a deco glass buckle. Center seam is slightly asymmetrical and goes at an angle. Waist is very open as it is a pullover and meant to be cinched down with its belt.
In very good condition for age. There is a small mark on the bust, which is actually a bald spot on the velvet, and there have also been a few small mends near the waist which are very unnoticeable, especially when the belt is being worn. Shown in photos. Presents beautifully.
